• no you’re not an awful person if you just misread the description but you are still engaging in a racist practice
• so just apologize and stop
• if you keep doing it or if you get all angry because people called you out for your whitewashing then this is where you are being really awful

Hello guys, since I’m not really online here, and insrugent is not here yet in Indonesia, I embrace spoilers so much, I will talk about things that I read around interenet and obviously theartofnotwriting blog aka the official blog of V. Roth will be my first resource.

I was very wrong to fancast Max Irons as Tobias. I’m very sorry! Because Tobias is confirmed as a biracial character by Veronica Roth. Yes, I haven’t read the second book, or maybe one of you might be mistaken the racial information in the second book, that’s why you guys must check the link I recently linked before some questions come up. It’s very important to know this. Because Tobias is a biracial, and he mustn’t be portrayed as a white character, and Max Irons is a white man. The cast of Tobias Eaton must be a person of color too. V. Roth herself wrote there “Evelyn is a POC. I don’t know if Marcus’s skin tone is ever described, but I have always pictured him as white and it seems likely, given that he has blue eyes. ” and “It’s important to me that Tobias look like both of his parents, because his parents are both important people.” And she said she want to work in this thing too in the third book so it will be stated very clearly.

I personally don’t want an important character in the whole Divergent Trilogy such as Tobias is being whitewashed, in the whole fandom nor in the movies, and if he will, I will be disgusted. Just like Katniss in The Hunger Games, sigh. Skin color, race and everything that describe a character is the part of the character’s identity, those are very important. So if you whitewashed or making someone less described as a POC, it is very wrong.

And also for that Alexander Ludwig rumour, I was very mad to know that. Not just because he doesn’t have the same charisma as Tobias, he doesn’t even a POC.

I’m so looking forwad to Summit Ent. will do the right thing. I will be really upset and give up if another my favorite series movie production is racist, just like Lionsgate, only calling white women for the casting audition for Katniss Everdeen that clearly states in the whole book as a WOC character.

I hope you guys mind this as a fan of Divergent, because if not, our fandom will be called as a racist fandom not to mention: don’t be another fandom that being called racist, and as a good open minded person that against racism and whitewashing

They would be divided according to fandom. Crossover fics would appear in all the fandoms they reference. The smut section would have red lighting (for red light districts, duh) and the fluff section would have bean bags and stuffed animals. The angst section would be between fluff and smut so you can cope as you choose. There would be divisions according to pairings. Fan art would decorate the walls. There would be special nights for readings. The computers could be used to write fic and reference the original canon. Each fandom section would be decorated according to the corresponding fandom. The staff would wear cosplays from various fandoms.
